Colin “Solid” Treasure, the founder and 4th Degree Chief Instructor of Aerokick, a proud promoter of his sport has made it his business, using a scientific sporting approach, to gain extensive knowledge to enhance athletic performance.
His professional fighting championship experience set Colin in good stead to compete, teach and coach. With the influence of his idol the late great Bruce Lee. Colin’s thirst for anatomical, physiological and nutritional knowledge led to him to undertake a 4 year course in exercise and sports studies in order to gain a BA (Hons) Degree. Fascinated by what the human body can do “legally” if physiologically and psychologically prepared, together with his 25 years of teaching and coaching experience enables him to offer a unique style of instruction.
Training should never be a chore but an enjoyable beneficial process that you should look forward to. Colin believes humour and fun are paramount in athletic preparation in this sport. Understanding the balance between what you’re seriously trying to achieve together with the fun factor has a positive effect on the individual whilst striving for optimal performance.
Having been brought up on a steady diet of winning in diverse competitions from a young age, Colin puts competition and the control of nerves down to correct preparation. Adrenalin and nerves are emotions that need to be managed constructively in order to perform at peak.
Being taught and coached by Howard “The Hawk” Brown, World Champion, Kash Gill, 4 times World Champion and Andrew Hennessey, Master Instructor he has picked up outstanding knowledge and athletic confidence from this sport which has led Colin to unique achievements, having fought all over the world, including Ireland, Germany, and Russia against top opposition. His Pro Record stands at 33 fights, 29 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses, 20 knockouts, obtaining titles at Welter, Super Welter and Light Middleweight.
Colin’s achievements are wide and varied as he loves and revels in a challenge on and off screen. Having acted in one of Jackie Chan’s releases, to roles in the “Trainer” and “Doctors”, to game shows like Family Fortunes, Catchphrase and Gladiators and Britains Hardest. This is all fun for Colin who is never phased or overawed by anything or anyone.
Colin’s latest venture was competing in sky one’s “Britain’s Hardest” with his outstanding motivator Paul Woolcock. Together they represented themselves and Birmingham in true hardcore and unyielding fashion that is typical of their mutual Balsall Heathen background and die hard nature.
13 years working on nightclub doors, mainly in the capacity of head doorman in venues like Ritzy, Pulse, The Dome, Liberty’s, The Works has taught him people and communication skills in sometimes exciting and confrontational situations. With many life changing experiences entwined with the martial arts, Colin was head hunted to work with disaffected kids of all ages, Mentoring, guiding, advising and engaging children through the term known as “Physical Arts”. Now working for a company named 7KS (7 Key Skills) directed by Tony Hammond and Alan Wain, they recognised this was Colin’s forte and calling in life. Changing the sometimes challenging ways young people think and act through Physical arts, thus instilling values of respect, discipline and self esteem.
